Promoted as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax – I & Cadre Controlling Authority (CCA) for Tamil Nadu & Puducherry in 2012 and retired on 31.01.2013.

After retirement, he started practicing as an Advocate. He authored the autobiography titled “Thamizhamumum Thalaivanaagalaam” and founded a charitable trust supporting underprivileged students.
